Temple University in Philadelphia, PA

Temple University in Philadelphia has divested its 50% ownership stake in Health Partners Plans (HPP) to Jefferson Health. HPP is a non-profit hospital-owned Medicare and Medicaid Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) covering 290,000 lives in Eastern-Pennsylvania. The transaction was valued at $305 million.

Kentucky River in Jackson, KY

National Health Investors (NYSE: NHI), a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) has divested Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY to Quorum Health. This was NHI’s sole acute care hospital, and the transaction reflects a portfolio management strategy to focus on core business operations.

J.C. Blair Health System has joined Penn Highlands Healthcare

The Huntingdon, PA-based J.C. Blair Health System has officially joined Penn Highlands Healthcare. J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, a 71-bed, non-profit community hospital, is now known as Penn Highlands Huntingdon, making it the fifth hospital in the Penn Highlands Healthcare system. Juniper advised J.C. Blair on the transaction.

Fremont Health has entered into an affiliation with Nebraska Methodist Health System

The Dodge County (Neb.) Board of Supervisors, Fremont Health Board of Trustees and Nebraska Methodist Health System Board of Directors approved a strategic partnership between Fremont Health and Methodist. The newly created subsidiary of Methodist, Methodist Fremont Health, will lease Fremont health facilities, including Fremont Health Medical Center, from Dodge County. Juniper advised Fremont Health on this transaction.

Iroquois Memorial Hospital has agreed to be managed by Presence Health

Iroquois Memorial Hospital, along with its associated skilled nursing facility, has agreed to a management agreement with Presence Health. IMH will receive management, physician and information technology support under the arrangement. Juniper advised Iroquois Memorial Hospital on this transaction.
